Photography Career in Germany 1950-1957

When Hans was 15 on 1 May 1950, he left his family to move to Wiesbaden and started an apprenticeship in Photography (Fotolaborant).  Hans completed his apprenticeship on 1 May 1952 and began to work for various companies as a photographer (Fotograf), until he emigrated to the USA in 1957.

Scuba Diving in England 1968-1969 and USA 1971-1979

While stationed in England, Hans became interested in Scuba Diving.  He started his diving adventure in June 1968.  He soon became certified as a 3rd Class Diver for Open Water and went on several dives until October 1969.  A reassignment to Vietnam by the US Air Force in November 1969 interrupted his diving adventures.  Hans began diving again when he was assigned to Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina in December 1970.

In South Carolina, Hans joined the Neptune Scuba Club of North Augusta South Carolina.  He went on several diving trip with them, including trips down to Florida.  In many of the trips, Hans brought along his family.  While stationed in Alabama from 1972-1974, Hans did not dive.  But he continued his diving when he was station in Texas from 1974 to 1979.  Hans had plans to dive in the Cayman Islands, but never did.  In 2021 his two kids decided to dive in the Cayman Islands in honor of their father.  They received their certificates, booked a cruise to the Cayman Islands, but due to COVID19 pandemic restrictions the ship was rerouted, and they never go to dive in the Cayman Islands.  They are still trying.

Graphic Design Course 1974

While stationed in Maxwell AFB Alabama, Hans attended Auburn University.  One of the courses he attended was about Graphic Design.  This little booklet is just a collection of the designs Hans submitted.  The course did end with an art studio display of many of the design from multiple students as selected by the Professor.   Several of Hans’ designs were selected for this display.

Brewing Beer and Wine Making

Brewing beer and wine was one of Hans’ hobbies.  In the family home, there would often be something brewing on the kitchen counter.  And once bottled, special friends would be invited to taste the resulting brew.

Gambling

This compendium is a collections information Hans collected on Gambling.  Hans was always very good at certain gambling games.  His favorites games were Poker and Black Jack (or 21).  Gambling was not always a hobby with Hans.  Sometimes his winnings allowed the family to afford to pay rent and pay for food.  Later his gambling paid for the vacations to Las Vegas.

Atlas Silo and Area 51 Sites

This compendium is a collection of information and photos collect by Hans about the Atlas sites and Area 51 in New Mexico.  Hans was in US Air Force, and stationed in Roswell New Mexico during the Atlas Missile program and was directly involved in missions concerning the missiles.  Especially during the 1964 Cuban Missile Crises.  The Area 51 UFO sightings were more in the late 1950s and Hans was assigned to Walker AFB Roswell from 1962-1966.  The UFO conspiracy and sightings are still alive and active.
