Helga’s Auto Biography Book 1937-1958

This book was written during Helga’s last years, with her input.  It covers the years from her birth in 1937 to when she married Hans in 1958.  The book is also published on Kindle/Amazon.

Helga’s Autobiography Album 1937-1957

Helga put together an album documenting her life from birth in 1937 until she married Hans in November 1958. These first album includes scans of each page.  The second contains each photo individually with its caption or information that was written on the back.

Helga’s Education 1941 to 1972

In 1941 Helga entered Kindergarten in Herford West Germany.  In March 1957 she received her Abitur, then in November 1957 she emigrated to Wisconsin USA.  On December 1972 she graduated with a Teaching BA in Foreign languages from South Carolina University.

The following attached file contains copies of important documents that Helga accumulated during her life time. Such as Birth Certificates, US Citizenship, Marriage Certificate, Education diplomas, and many more until the Death Certificate.

Helga’s Funeral

Contains the documents and notes used to organize Helga’s funeral and live service in 2019. Also contains Memorial Book from Life Services on 12 July 2019 at Cook Walden Funeral Home in Austin Texas which has images of contents of book prepared by Cook Walden.  Included is additional information distributed or received during Life Services. A Life Remembered book from Life Services on 12 July 2019.  Prepared by Cook Walden Funeral Home in Austin from the photo slide show provided by Family. Obituary ran in the Austin American Statesman.

Helga’s Diary October 1957 to November 1958 Emigrated to USA

On 8 June 2019, Helga (neé Pörtner) von Schweinitz died. In her collection of personal items, I found her diaries. This diary started just before she began her emigration to USA and continues until she marries Hans von Schweinitz in Milwaukee Wisconsin USA in November 1958.
