No matter where they lived, Hans and Helga had various interests such as skiing, Mountain climbing, and Caving.  They also entertained various guests in their own home, and there was a “guest book” available for comments, a scan of which is included herein. A few other miscellaneous compendiums are also included herein.

Guest Book

Hans and Helga always enjoyed having guests.  No matter where they lived, there was always room for the guest.  In 1995, Hans and Helga added an addition to their home on 2319 Village Circle, Austin TX.  Now they had a special place for the guest to stay, and come they did.  With this addition to the house, they also started a new tradition.  They left a guest book in the room and many guests did write in the book.

In 2008, Hans and Helga, moved to 19117 Ganton Court, Pflugerville TX, as suburb of Austin.  The new house had one bedroom reserved as a guest room.  The same guest book was left in this room.

Xmas Letters 1986-2014

Starting in 1986 Helga began to write a family Xmas letter to be added to the Xmas cards.  Hans helped by computerizing the letter and the address labels.  Many times the letter also included the latest family photo.

Heritage Items in House

This is a book of items from Hans and Helga von Schweinitz. Each items has a short story attached.  Since everything is still in flux, there is also a Item List included which includes all excel type table of all items in the house even if not heritage.

Mountain Climbing

This compendium is a collections of information and photos of Hans and Helga’s Mountain Climbing hobby.  Also often, when Hans was on temporary duty (TDY) while in the US Air Force, he would hike the local mountains.

Skiing

This compendium is a collection of photos and information about Hans and Helga’s interest in skiing.  Hans learned to ski as a child in Germany.  Hans had to teach Helga how to downhill ski.  Helga ad grown up in northern Germany where most of the land is flat, she only knew how to cross-country ski, not how to go down mountains.  While stationed in Roswell New Mexico, Hans was a member of the AF Ski team.  Hans and Helga became members of Ski Rescue Patrol in New Mexico.  Hans and Helga also enjoyed Skiing as vacations.  Often while in United States, they would travel to Ruidoso Downs New Mexico to ski.  When in Europe they liked to ski the Alps in Tröll Austria. Their children joined them from an early age.

Mustafa Khan, a friend

In 1961 or 1962 while in Wiesbaden West Germany, Hans and Helga meet Mustafa Khan.  They quickly establish a friendship.  Mustafa was a Muslim from Bahrain, and had come to the west to learn about other cultures.  They kept in contact over the years.  The following is shot compendium of Helga’s recollections about their friendship along with some photos.

Together Religion

This little booklet is just a collection of religious memberships and quotes from both Hans and Helga.  The first section is quotes by Hans.  Hans grew up in Germany during a time when religion was just part of the family responsibility.  Through his US Air Force career, Hans was exposed to various religions through the world.  Sometimes through his co-workers, and sometimes from the country he was stationed, such as Thailand with its Buddhism.  Thought out their lives they would quote from various religions and sometimes would provide these quotes to their children.  A few of them are included herein.
